How to connect two different brands of drip tubing

Read the size printed on each tube first. If both say the same outside diameter, any coupling made for that size joins them. If they differ (say .700 and .710), use a universal nut-lock coupling. It fits all three common half-inch sizes.

What fits

Universal 1/2" drip coupling (fits .620" to .710")

or a compression coupling for that size, if both tubes match

  • Same size on both tubes (read the print or measure): any compression coupling for that OD works.
  • Different sizes, say .700" and .710": use a universal nut-lock or spin-lock coupling, which fits all three common half-inch sizes.

Brands sell different real sizes under the same “1/2 inch” label. A compression fitting is made for one outside diameter, so you need to know that diameter to pick the fitting.
